Officially, the new streetcar line in Seattle, Washington is called the South Lake Union Streetcar. But, it was first called the South Lake Union Trolley or S.L.U.T. until local powers realized the problem. The best spin on the name change comes from the transportation spokeswoman "Trolley seemed vintage, whereas streetcar sounded more modern." Sure it did.
