Twin Tesla coils play theme from "Super Mario Brothers"

Twin Solid State Musical Tesla coils playing Mario Bros theme song at the 2007 Lightning on the Lawn Teslathon sponsored by DC Cox (Resonance Research Corp) in Baraboo WI.

The music that you hear is coming from the sparks that these two identical high power solid state Tesla coils are generating. There are no speakers involved. The Tesla coils stand 7 feet tall and are each capable of putting out over 12 foot of spark. They are spaced about 18 feet apart. The coils are controlled over a fiber optic link by a single laptop computer. Each coil is assigned to a midi channel which it responds to by playing notes that are programed into the computer software.

We're going to need a bigger plunger...

The Rabbids are coming! The Rabbids are coming!

Rayman Raving Rabbids was one of the best games out on the Wii this year, and by far was the funniest game I have played in a long, long time. The sequel is coming out in November and looks to be bigger, better and funnier. The French rabbits are the funniest. There's something something so easy to mock about the French, but so satisfying. The Wii finds your lack of faith disturbing

The Wii is finally getting the game it was made for. Star Wars. Now, I am a fan of the films, but I am not a fanboy. But, the Wii was made for lightsaber battles. It may not be the graphics workhorse that the PS3 or XBOX 360 is, but as Han Solo would say "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself." My inner geek is trembling like a 17 year old girl after the prom.

"LucasArts to Unleash the Force on the Wii in Spring 2008
Star Wars™: The Force Unleashed™ Coming to Nintendo's Platform with Exclusive Duel Mode

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Sept. 18, 2007 -- LucasArts today revealed that Star Wars™: The Force Unleashed™ will come to the Wii™ home videogame system from Nintendo next spring, offering owners the unique chance to live out their Jedi fantasies by wielding the Wii Remote™ as a lightsaber while using the Nunchuk™ controller to torment foes with their Force™ powers.

The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The game's expansive story is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

The Wii version, in development by Krome Studios, will also add an exclusive duel mode in which players can compete head-to-head with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master.

"The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life," said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts. "We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force."
