Indiana Jones 4 has finished filming

It's a wrap for Indiana Jones 4. All filming is complete and the film will come out next summer. I hope my nostalgia for the series overwrites my fear that Ford may not be able to pull this off at his age. I liked Shia Lebouf in "Transformers", though I didn't like the film much...but what is that pornstache on his face? It's a molestache (credit to Cara for that word). http://www.indianajones.com/

Minority Report is coming closer to reality

The more time that passes from the release of the film "Minority Report", the closer we are to seeing it come true. I know that Spielberg consulted with many futurists, and worked their prediction of what our future society was going to look like, into his film. From customized commercials that speak to individuals using very focused cones of sound, to trying to predict that someone will commit a murder or crime, it seems like these futurists hit the nail on the head.

Computer scientists along with behavioral scientists at the University of Buffalo are trying to create a system that will track your face, voice, body and other behaviors and come up with a numerical score of the chances of you trying to commit a terrorist act.

"The goal is to identify the perpetrator in a security setting before he or she has the chance to carry out the attack," said Venu Govindaraju, Ph.D., professor of computer science and engineering in the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences."

I am all for increasing security and saving lives, but where do we draw the line? This stuff is getting really creepy. There really is no privacy anymore.

Gidget goes to Washington

Sally Field will be playing Mrs. Lincoln in the upcoming film by Stephen Spielberg. The man playing the President? Liam Neeson. The film will be based on the book "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln."

The film is supposed to be set in the time leading up to the Civil War. The film is a long time coming, since Neeson signed on to play "Honest Abe" back in 2005 when Spielberg finished "Munich" and before he started "War of the Worlds".

The film is being developed by Tony Kushner, who wrote the script for "Munich".

I am not sure how to feel about this casting overall. It doesn't really get me excited, but I don't hate it. I have to say that Spielberg is doing some really interesting work the last 5-6 years and I am interested to see where he takes this.
