The final season of LOST gets postponed for The Olympics? WTF?

"October 26, 2009 - For those of you who were hoping for a fairly seamless run through for Lost's final season (similar to the way Season 5 ran with almost no breaks), you're out of luck. According to Abramsology.com, Lost's 6th season is going to be broken up.

According to executive producer Cartlon Cuse, ABC will air the first few episodes in January and then take a time out for the Winter Olympics. The Olympics aren't even airing on ABC, but Lost will still take a break and resume the season in early March.

No official January kick off date has been announced yet."

Advertisement for Mr. Cluck's Outback Roasters

Hurley from LOST in the advertisement for Mr. Cluck's new Outback Roasters menu. He says that ever since he won the lottery, he has had good luck, and that he dreamed of this idea on a vacation to Australia. It's followed by a commercial for Oceanic Airlines where they claim a perfect 30 year safety record. Did the nuclear explosion at the end of last season really reset our timeline? January can't get here fast enough.

Snakes on a Plane - TV Edit

I normally hate the editing of movies for TV. I prefer they either bleep the vulgarity, instead of replacing dialogue.

I saw The Usual Suspects on USA replace "Give me the keys you **** sucker" with "Give me the keys you fairy godmother" and I couldn't take the movie seriously anymore. Once I saw The Big Lebowski where "This is what happens when you **** a guy in the ***" became "This is what happens when you make a friend in the Alps". Again, it totally takes you out of the movie.

The edit for Snakes on a Plane is however, to quote Dennis "fifteen gallons of awesome".

Michael Emerson (Ben Linus) from "LOST" talks about Season 4

There is a very interesting article with Michael Emerson of LOST about the upcoming season 4. Not a lot of new information, but it's an interesting read and he drops hints like: "I think Ben is dead right about that. I think we can trust Ben on that one; that the people on the boat mean them no good." and "But these new characters are really intriguing and some of them are quite dangerous. It's going to be interesting."

LOST Answers from Season 3 located on the Blu-Ray DVD Set

Desmond David Hume is the reason why Flight 815 crashed on the island. By not pushing the button, he allowed the electromagnetic forces to rip apart the plane.

"Pushing the button was not a psychological experiment." It was a real job. Look at what happened when the button wasn't pushed!

Electromagnetism is on the island. The Dharma Initiative drilled into it and built the Swan Station on top in order to keep it at bay. The electromagnetism on the island will not lead to a black hole that will destroy the planet.

We haven't seen the last supply drop. How it's being dropped on the island is a mystery. Keep in mind that just because the package had a parachute attached does not mean it was actually "dropped."

Walt does have psychic powers - not clear how powerful he is. The show will address his growth spurt.

There are a few questions to ask yourself in regards to Walt:
-Did the Island draw Walt 'cause of his powers?
-Is he there for a greater purpose? Was he destined to go to the island?
-Was it preordained?

That was definitely Walt on the computer talking to Michael. Did he actually physically type is a whole other story. Maybe he used his psychic powers to send the message.

Walt has definitely spent some time in Room 23. That was the room Miss Klugh threatened to take him back to. It is not a good place to go. Dharma used it as part of a psychological experiment; The Others use it as a punishment whenever someone wasn't conforming to the norm. The video from Room 23 was included and man, it was good. Check out some of the terms that flashed across the screen:
-The extinction of desire is Nirvana
-Be the Awakened One

The Polar Bears were brought to the island by the Dharma Initiative. After The Others took over, the bears were released. They swam to the other island and eventually mated. Polar Bears are still on the island.

Mittelos Bioscience is a front that The Others use in the real world. It is also an anagram for "lost time." The Others can go back and forth from the island to the outside world. The sub is only part of how The Others travel to and from the island. The show will explore the notion of time on the island and how The Others travel.

Charlie Pace is dead.

Christian Shephard is dead.

Kelvin is dead.

Nikki and Paulo are dead.

Radzinski is dead.

Mikhail is dead.

Hostiles = Others is true. The Others are also comprised of other groups that were on the Island.

Locke's paralysis was healed by the island. It is not clear if it's permanent.

Marvin Candle, Mark Wickmund, and Edgar Halowax are triplets. No, wait. They're the same person. We will get to know more about him.

There was a real Henry Gale. He was a balloonist. He was not a member of The Dharma Initiative. We will find out why he was in the vicinity of the island.

There's only one Richard Alpert. He just has good skin. "Age is all relative on the island."

Penny established the listening station to find Desmond. We will find out just how Penny knew there was an island to look for.

The Others are responsible for bringing Anthony Cooper to the island. Drugs + Accident = arriving on the island. "There are other nefarious things that The Others are doing in the real world, but we can't tell you about that yet."

Each station has its own orientation video. There could be more than 6 hatches/films.

The hieroglyphics on the timer meant "Underworld." Dharma gave a shout-out to those that were on the island before, "props to the Egyptians. That sort of thing."

The Blast Door map was incredibly accurate. However, there were two spectrums to the map, and we only saw one. The question mark is the Pearl Station, and the various references to the monster and its travel patterns were "pretty definitive."

New Terminator Info (TV and Film)

There is good and bad news on the Terminator front. The good news is that we have new posters for the TV series from Entertainment Weekly. These look really good.

In the bad news category, McG (Director of such cinematic wonder as Charlie's Angels, We are Marshall and producer of such memorable TV shows such as The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" and "Fast Lane") has been officially signed to direct Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.

The rumors are true. Sigh. James Cameron must be so pissed. It's sad, because the look of the TV series is all sorts of cool, but McG will most likely make a heavy handed, visually boring and mediocre film. I didn't enjoy T3, because they completely changed the themes and mythology laid out in the first two films. The idea that the future is not set, that there is no fate but what you make it, etc. Instead at the end of T3, John Connor gets told it doesn't matter what he does, the war will happen. It's fate. It's set in stone. Let's hope T4 has a good script, doesn't get "AAAhhhhnold" to make a cameo and can make a decent film. I am not holding my breath.

UPDATE: The screenwriters to "Terminator Salvation: The future Begins" are the same writers of "The Net", "Primeval" and "Catwoman". Well, there went my hope for a decent film. Drat.

24: The Unaired 1994 Pilot

The lost pilot episode of "24" has been uncovered. This was shot back in 1994 and for some reason they didn't pick up the show until seven years later in 2001. Poor Jack Bauer had to save the world using AOL 3.0

LOST TV Producer on the Writer's Strike

Damon Lindelof (writer and producer of LOST) wrote an interesting op-ed piece in the New York Times. Here is a sample:

"If this strike lasts longer than three months, an entire season of television will end this December. No dramas. No comedies. No “Daily Show.” The strike will also prevent any pilots from being shot in the spring, so even if the strike is settled by then, you won’t see any new shows until the following January. As in 2009. Both the guild and the studios we are negotiating with do agree on one thing: this situation would be brutal.

I will probably be dragged through the streets and burned in effigy if fans have to wait another year for “Lost” to come back. And who could blame them? Public sentiment may have swung toward the guild for now, but once the viewing audience has spent a month or so subsisting on “America’s Next Hottest Cop” and “Celebrity Eating Contest,” I have little doubt that the tide will turn against us."

Writer's Strike: The Office

This is a clip from the creators of "The Office" talking about why they are on strike. The part that killed me was, last season NBC asked the writers to create a series of episodes made just for the website aka webisodes and they went on to win an Emmy for their work. NBC sold ad space on the online videos, and didn't pay the writers anything for their work. In fact, in what may be the most amazing part, is that NBC didn't even spend the $28 it costs to get an actual Emmy statue. (Winners don't get to keep the award they are handed on stage, they have to buy them) As sad as it will be to not have "The Office" and maybe have "LOST" not air again until 2009,(UGH) I have to side with the writers here. It's not fair that they get no share of internet, phone, or streaming revenue, and then also get squat on DVD sales.

Is Jin the next LOST character to be killed?

Actor Daniel Dae Kim better hope that the third time is not the charm. He was arrested in Hawaii this morning on suspicion of drunk driving. Lost producers have a tendency to kill off characters when the actors playing them get into trouble with the law. In 2005, Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros (Anna Lucia and Libby) were both arrested and pleaded guilty to drunken driving. In 2006, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, (Mr. Eko) had his LOST experience end when he was arrested for a traffic violation, and accused of disobeying a police officer and driving without a license.

Jin isn't my favorite character, and it has already been reported that a major character will be killed off in the early part of next season that starts in February, so maybe he just sealed his own fate. We'll have to see.

What is it with Hawaii and LOST actors? I have NO tolerance for drunk driving. NONE. There is no excuse for it. Give up the keys, call a friend, a cab, whatever you have to do. You drink, you don't drive. That's it. There is no reason for the danger you put yourself and especially others in. It's a shame. Luckily, no one was hurt and I hope it doesn't happen again. *Stepping down from soapbox*

Creed from "The Office" rocks out with Jimmy Durante

Fans of the office know Creed Bratton as the man who used toner from the copier to color his hair to look younger, but they may not know his real life persona is blended in so well with his character's, that it is hard to know where real life ends and fantasy begins. It is said his character is a fictionalized version of himself. Creed was a guitarist with "The Grass Roots", and this video of the band has them introduced by Jimmy Durante. Creed is the one in the striped sweater and neckerchief.

Will Ferrell joining the cast of LOST (sort of)

Ok, so the headline is misleading. I couldn't resist. Will Ferrell will indeed be in a mysterious, strange and tropical setting, but it won't be one created by the Dharma Initiative. It will be on one much scarier. He will be a member of the movie: "Land of the Lost" which starts filming in March of 2008.
The film is summarized as "an adaptation...revolves around a disgraced paleontologist, his assistant and a macho tour guide who find themselves in a strange world inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey people and reptilian Sleestaks."

I loved the Sid and Marty Krofft show when I was a kid, and even though it wasn't supposed to be humorous, even at a young age, I took it tongue in cheek. With bad special effects, people in rubbery lizard suits and Will Ferrell overacting....this could be fantastic!
