Taters of the Lost Ark

This may be the greatest toy of all time. I need to get one of these. Indiana Jones in Taters of the Lost Ark! He comes with a bullwhip, jacket, fedora and a gold idol that looks like a Mr. Potato Head!

http://gizmodo.com/347892/lucas-whores-out-indy-into-tater-of-the-lost-ark-and-we-love-it

It will be announced at the 2008 Toy Fair in New York

In other Indy News, word is that the film is locked down (completely edited) and John Williams is currently writing the score. Producer Frank Williams had this to say about the film "I would say it's closest to the third one (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). It's all adults. I mean, you have the sidekick in Shia (LaBeouf), but you don't have a Short Round and I think the banter between the characters is as fun as it was in the third movie".

Here is a new picture from the film. Indy looks to be holding a bazooka.

It's from the latest issue of Empire Magazine that is out Friday, Feb. 1st.

I retract that last post. THIS is the greatest action figure in the world

In my last post, I said that the victims of a B-Movie were the coolest action figures ever. I have to eat my own words, because after I published that post, I saw "GLOW IN THE DARK, FLESH-EATING ZOMBIE" action figures!!!

The description on the website says "Wreak havoc on your little sister's precious diorama with this Flesh Eating Zombie Play Set! Each set includes nine 1" to 3.25" tall, hard vinyl zombies, complete with blank stares, gaping mouths, open wounds and missing limbs!

Turn off the lights and they glow! Fantastic undead fun for the whole family!"

It's $14.49 and I'll just have to combine the two sets into one fantastic zombie apocalypse diorama at my cubicle. I can't wait.

You can order them here: http://www.perpetualkid.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2295

Greatest action figures of all time

Yes. I am a geek. I know it. I realize it. I embrace it.

I am always on the look out for cool things to decorate my desk at work with. I figure if I have to spend more time at a cubicle than I get to spend at home, I am going to make it fun, unique and interesting. I currently have Warner Brothers Halloween lights hanging from the shelf above my computer, along with my bobble head Darth Vader, my stuffed Buddha, an Immortal from the movie "300" and a Wheezy the Penguin from "Toy Story 2". I have a movie poster calendar and Mickey Mouse and Friends Tiki Office supplies. (Stapler, Pen holder, etc.)

This however, has jumped onto the MUST HAVE list.

It's a horrified B-Movies victims play set. The description of the set says "We provide the victims, you provide the terror! Each dramatic play set includes nine 2-1/2" to 3" tall, hard vinyl victims captured in utterly terrified poses!

Are they reacting to the advances of a giant, man-eating tomato or the sight of your grandma in her nightgown and curlers?

The possibilities are endless!"

Does it get any cooler than that?

The set is 14.99 and you can buy it here:

Police in Singapore bust action figure protest rally

SINGAPORE, Sept 7
Reuters

A protest action by a group of Singaporeans with Japanese anime figurines such as the 5-inch tall Ultramen, robots and monsters with placards met some real-life police in the city-state.

A handful of fans of Japanese anime had turned up at a Singapore public park on August 25 with armfuls of the toys to protest against a clampdown on Internet downloading of anime material by Singapore animation distributor Odex. The incident was not reported in the local press, but pictures and accounts have started circulating on many blogs and political Web sites. . "The police didn't stop us from what we wanted to do. But their being there was enough to intimidate," the event's organiser -- who only wanted to be known by his online moniker Zer0 -- told Reuters by telephone.

He added that police -- who had four anti-riot vans at the scene -- also took down the anime fans' particulars and that they were filmed by plainclothes policemen. A police spokeswoman said she could not immediately comment. Public protests are rare in Singapore, where outdoor demonstrations are banned and any public gathering of more than four people requires a permit.
